Positive Futures Education Resource
FSGA’s ‘Positive Futures Program’, operating since 2003, aims to:
• Assist ageing carers, people with disabilities and their familes, to plan for the future.
• Provide a specially trained worker known as a Family Facilitator, who joins with the family, assisting them to define their dream for the future, develop goals and create actions which will enable them to move towards their desired picture of the future.
Sharing Insights, approaches and tools...
In response to the high interest in this innovative program amongst the Australian community welfare sector, we have developed a new resource. The Positive Futures Education Resource seeks to share insights and tools developed through a strength based, action-research approach to this work.
The Resource provides a step-by-step guide to working with ageing carers and a set of nine modules that seek to assist carers to identify and move more easily through common barriers, likely to be encountered in the future planning process.
